Tips of CD measurement (verification of wavelength accuracy and wavelength repeatability)

July 7, 2021

Introduction

For high-precision CD spectrum measurement, [Wavelength Accuracy] and [Wavelength Repeatability] are important parameter to obtain precise spectrum. 253.652 nm emission line spectrum of mercury lamp is good reference to verify [Wavelength Accuracy] and [Wavelength Repeatability] of CD spectrometer.

This article shows the validation result of [Wavelength Accuracy] and [Wavelength Repeatability] of CD spectrometer by using mercury lamp.

Experimental

Using the mercury lamp which is installed to JASCO’s CD spectrometer as standard, 253.652 nm mercury lamp emission line spectrum was measured five times.

Measurement conditions
Photometric mode:  DC
HT voltage:  Manual (300 V)
Measurement range:  250-260 nm

Results

Figure 1, 2 and Table 1 show the repeat measurement results of the 253.652 nm mercury lamp emission line spectrum. Five spectra show good agreement, so high [Wavelength Accuracy] and [Wavelength Repeatability] were verified.
