Business Outlines

Over the last 60 years Jasco Corporation has continued to attain the highest standards in terms of optical performance, ease of use and reliability. Jasco has grown to become a strong global company with sales and support worldwide.

Over the years the Jasco product line has grown to cover instruments used, not only in research but also for routine analysis applications in areas such as quality control, environmental analysis and process control.

The current spectroscopy product line encompasses instrumentation for the following methods:

  • Fourier Transform Infared Spectrometers (FTIR)
  • FT-Raman Spectrometers
  • Raman Spectrometers
  • UV/Visible and Near Infrared Spectrophotometers
  • Fluorescence Spectrophotometers
  • Circular Dichroism Spectrophotometers
  • Polarimeters
  • Dissolution Tester
  • Windows based instrument control and data acquisition software

With the introduction of HPLC in the mid-1970’s Jasco’s experience in highly sensitive and accurate optical systems led to the development of a series of chromatographic detection systems. Fixed and variable wavelength UV/Visible and Fluorescence detectors were introduced featuring excellent sensitivity and reliability in compact modules. In order to offer complete HPLC systems JASCO developed a variety of novel solvent delivery systems as well as other accessories such as column ovens, autosamplers and PC based control and analysis software. The current LC-4000 series includes:

  • Variable wavelength/scanning UV/Visible detectors
  • Multiple wavelength UV detector
  • Diode-array UV/Visible detector
  • Variable wavelength/scanning Fluorescence detector
  • Refractive Index detector
  • Chiral detectors
  • Isocratic and Gradient solvent delivery with analytical to preparative flow rates
  • Autosamplers
  • Column ovens
  • Specialized components for Supercritical Fluid Extraction and Chromatography
  • Windows based instrument control and data acquisition software
  • Windows based various control drivers for third-party detectors including MS, ELSD, Electro Conductivity etc.

Research and Development

Jasco has been a manufacturer of analytical instrumentation used throughout academic and industrial research for sixty years. With particular emphasis on advanced optical systems and design Jasco offers a broad range of spectrometers, spectrophotometers and liquid chromatography, supercritical fluid chromatography instrumentation. Jasco’s large staff of R&D; applications scientists and technical support personnel have created instrumentation that provides the accuracy, performance and reliability demanded by today’s laboratory.

Spectroscopic Products

Many of the analytical instruments (analyzers) that we develop are used as parent tools in the petrochemical, electronics, semiconductor and automotive industries, as well as in such fields as medicine, agriculture, food products and environmental protection that directly serve human needs and sustain human life.

Analyzers are used to identify substances, determine compounds, ascertain chemical structures and quantify samples. To perform these tasks, optical analyzers that can utilize any light ranging from the ultraviolet to infrared region are being developed by the Spectroscopy Products Division.

Liquid Chromatography and Supercritical Chromatography products

HPLC was developed and initially commercialized in the early 1960s in the United States. JASCO immediately recognized the vast potential of this new separation analyzer and introduced the first HPLC system in Japan in 1972. This system was based on technology developed exclusively in Japan. In 1977, our expanded market presence and growing reputation prompted the U.S. company that originally commercialized HPLC to ask JASCO to manufacture pumps, UV detectors and other products on an OEM basis.
In the 40 years since, we have developed such new products as a low-pressure gradient system, micro-HPLC system, and a sampling SFC system that is directly connected to a Supercritical Fluid Extractor (SFE). In addition, since our HPLC system introduced in 2014 works particularly well with mass spectrometers, our system is widely used as the standard LC-MS instrument to measure components using mass spectrometry.

Quality Assurance

The JASCO group maintains a global presence with offices in major cities around the world. Consequently, we must supply products conforming to international standards.

JASCO was awarded ISO9001 certification on February 10, 1995 and ISO14001 certification on November 20, 1997.

ISO9001 prescribes standards for quality management systems for such aspects of business operation as design, development, production, installation and servicing. ISO14001 prescribes standards for environmental management systems for such aspects of minimizing operation, evaluating negative affect for the environment, complying with applicable laws, regulations and related requirements and improving those issues.

Certified companies are able to satisfy customer demand and ensure customer satisfaction better than companies without this certification.

As a result, we have successfully established a corporate infrastructure, covering everything from development and manufacturing to sales, that allows us to satisfy the needs of our customers worldwide.

All our analyzer products must pass strict quality inspection procedures (i.e., acceptance, operation, final, delivery inspection) before being packaged and shipped to customers.

Marketing

Our main customers (i.e., researchers, engineers) often focus on original concepts in their work. Consequently, they demand a variety of specific analyzer functions. To help satisfy this demand, our sales professionals possess engineering knowledge that allows them to do more than simply introduce our current product line. For instance, our sales personnel make use of seminar mini-buses to travel to customer work sites and provide information on our latest products. General-purpose and special-use analyzers are exhibited at various trade shows.

New products and technology are also unveiled at exhibits featuring analytical and scientific instruments. JASCO currently operates ten customer service centers and supports more than 40 distributors throughout Japan in order to promptly serve our customers. And JASCO products are exported to more than 45 countries around the world through our affiliates, JASCO International Co., Ltd., JASCO Inc. and JASCO Europe s.r.l.
